Kew Park Montessori offers a rich learning experience for your child.

Our academic programme is enhanced by many other subjects, such as art, physical education, music, French, and drama. There are also numerous extracurricular clubs emphasizing artistic, musical and physical activities during school and after school. These include Sportsball, karate, yoga, crafts, running, track and field, Acro-dance, and French clubs. We also offer enriched skiing, skating and gymnastics.

Our schools are inviting places for children and their parents, allowing us to form an important partnership between home and school. We invite parents to celebrate many cultural events with us throughout the year with activities such as baking, crafts, singing, dance, and storytelling. Some of these events have become traditions, while others vary according to our population at the school. Examples include Hanukkah, Christmas, Diwali, Chinese New Year and Korean New Year celebrations.

We also encourage partnership and a sense of community within the school. Older children are encouraged to mentor younger ones. This is made easy by our mixed-age classrooms, which provide opportunities to learn responsibility and work with positive role models. Our whole-school assembly brings the children together to sing our school song and the national anthem, and celebrate special events. Assemblies also provide opportunities for children to be recognized for their accomplishments and good deeds, and to present their work to the whole group.

That same sense of partnership extends to our neighbourhood. We have been in the same community for over 30 years. We're committed to our neighbourhood and the people in it. And we encourage this same commitment in our students, for example through the unique intergenerational programme that our upper elementary students participate in with local seniors.

We believe in providing children with a wealth of experiences. We offer our students many outings, special events and interesting visitors. The zoo, farms, museums, horticultural gardens, and historical sites are just some of the exciting places the children may visit. Outings include the library, neighbourhood walks, nature walks, and visits in the community. Our visitors programme might include The Toronto Symphony, authors, scientists or athletes. Upper elementary students participate in a yearly camping trip and have other opportunities for overnight trips to places such as Ottawa and Quebec City.
